Tired of Being Tired? Mitochondrial Therapy in Shrewsbury

Tired of being tired?

Modern day life is very demanding with all that it asks of us, which can leave us feeling drained of energy and lacking in motivation. However, it is not the only culprit to why the nation as a whole is feeling zapped of energy most of the time, relying on caffeine fixes to get through the day.

Now I’m going to provide you with a short science lesson to explain how energy is made and reasons as to why your energy levels could be below par.

https://integralhealthshrewsbury.com/assets/images/gallery/blog-4/mitochondrial-role_thumb.pngEnergy is made in the mitochondria which are the ‘powerhouse’ of the cell and by extension body. They are theses wiggly looking organelles that produce energy known as ATP. To function optimally to produce lots of fuel for our body they require certain nutrients.

The mitochondria are really interesting as they have a different DNA to the cell nucleus. This DNA is different from our own cellular DNA as the mitochondria are actually a form of bacteria. Antibiotics therefore destroy many of our mitochondria leaving us with less energy producing factories available to produce the power the body requires. Have you ever felt really shattered after antibiotics? This is the reason.

As well as antibiotics destroying the mitochondria, free radicals also attack them which leave them less able to fulfil their role.

On top of this we also have the fact that mitochondria decline with age starting around 26 years old.

In a nutshell, things that reduce energy production:

  1. Nutrient deficiencies
  2. Antibiotics
  3. Age

What can I do to increase my energy levels?

Firstly, you need to check how much power your body is producing, this is done using a 5 minute Heart Rate Variability test.

Followed by a targeted supplementation protocol to repair and rebuild your mitochondria.

The process takes on average anywhere between 12-20 weeks depending on the person. After 2 months of following the protocol you will be retested to assess your total power. This is to monitor and ensure that your supplementation protocol is correct and doesn’t need adjusting.

You can contact Naomi Langford Archer via her webpage to book in for a consultation including a Heart Rate Variability test. The cost of this is £60.
