Sovereignty Meditation Part 6: Lammas

Sovereignty Meditation Part 6: Lammas

Within the Sovereignty Series we connect to Igraine the Hallows Queen.Anglo-Saxonhlaf-mas, ""loaf-mass""

The energy we are connecting into in this time is there to help with the conception, gestation and birth of any project - whether it be physical, emotional, mental or spiritual. It activates the transformation of sexual energy into creativity in all its aspects. It can shed light on our needs in any situation, allowing tasks to be planned and skills to be managed. It helps to highlight the underlying flow of communication that links people through the generations in, either the same family, the same role or the same tradition, ensuring that lineage continues.

The energies that we will be incorporating in this meditation include:

St John's Wort - for people who are too open or over exposed leading to psychic and physical vulnerability. It eases deep fears and disturbed dreams. It also helps to release hidden or obvious fears, including those from past lives. It also helps with the ability to separate thought from emotion.

Deep Pink Rose - protective of emotional states, soothing past and present fears.

Amber - this energises the functions of the brain and nervous system, reducing anxiety and increasing energy levels.

Wormwood - for releasing fear and anxiety, to give self-empowerment and self-determination.

Yellow Light - giving us the ability to recognise and identify what is useful in any situation. It brings clarity to memory, intellect and expression of wisdom and joyful energising on all levels.

All prepared during Lammas - the traditional time for celebrating the harvesting of the grain. The corn-seed is the promise of renewal and next years crop. Fairs and feasts are still celebrated as Lammas, from 1-16th of August. Food, drink, dance and making merry are evident in today's fairs, but in the past it was also for selling horses, markets, business and handfastings.

The Archetype associated with Lammas is Igraine, Guardian of Traditions, sustaining and maintaining life.

In many traditions, in the past and still some today, the child is identified through its mother not its father. IN current British tradition, once a woman is married, she takes her husband's name, which then hides her lineage. Lineage is still very important. The late Diana, Princess of Wales could trace her family lineage back to the Royal Stuart Line, whilst her husband Charles' family was a 20th century import from Germany. Despite taking on her husband's name, she had in her own right, a better claim to the throne. Some might argue that her value in the marriage was cementing their children's place more firmly in to a British Heritage.

Lineage involves producing children, but these can be physical, emotional, mental or spiritual. In this process there is a conception, gestation, birth and nurturance. A meeting of polarities allows a new energy to emerge. Form and formlessness co-create.

Igraine from the Arthurian legends, was Arthur's mother. The myth tells of an enchanted sojourn with Arthur's father, Uther Pendragon, when they created the vehicle for the incoming soul. She was part of events that shaped the future. Unknowingly she provided the heir the Land required.

This energy also represents what we inherit, not so much our physical DNA, but emotional and mental patterns. At some points in our lives we need to reappraise these and release those that we have absorbed from others that have no bearing on who we really are.

The next in the series of Sovereignty Meditations, devised by Simon and Sue Lilly of Green Man Essenceswill take place at Centre for Integral Health on Saturday 2nd August at 6pm, all are welcome for a donation and no previous experience or attendance is necessary. As we have with all the past Sovereignty Meditations we will be combining a beautiful Visual Key created by Simon Lilly, along with a combination of crystal and audio essencesto accompany the guided visualisation to enable us to connect to the energy of the Land at this juncture.

For more information please see our page on the Centre Events Diary.

I express deep gratitude to Simon and Sue Lilly for allowing us to use their beautiful work in this way and I look forward to sharing it with you all this Lammas Tide.
