Service Information
Reflexology...
is a form of complementary therapy based on ancient techniques, which involves gentle massage to parts of the feet and hands, in areas called reflex zones, with the aim of releasing tension and promoting relaxation. This in turn can help bring balance to the mind and body and can help promote a sense of well-being.
Everyone responds in their own way to reflexology, but overall clients may feel that: they are less tense; more able to cope with stress; may have improved mood or sleeping and may generally feel more comfortable. Others may feel that it can help them feel more positive about their own health and enable them to use different coping tools shown in the session to help them enhance their own well-being.
Reflexology is usually performed in a comfortable reclining chair or a massage couch with relaxation music playing if you wish, and lasts about an hour. It involves removing your shoes and socks and applying a massage cream or oil, to mainly the soles, sides and top of the feet with gentle massage and holding techniques, which most people find very soothing and calming. Pressure is light but direct and this enables even the most ticklish of people to enjoy Reflexology.
Each session is tailored to your individual needs, and although some of you may possibly be aware of slight tenderness in parts of the feet at times in the session, the soothing affect of the massage appears to dissipate this. Reflexology is in no way diagnostic at all.
Some clients like to have a series of weekly Reflexology sessions for several weeks at a time whilst others may prefer regular monthly sessions.
